How to Upgrade Paytm Account - Updated

Upgrade Paytm wallet to lift the limits of your basic account and explore the additional features or deals that specially designed for Prime account. Also added steps to upgrading paytm wallet. Certain limits are there for your basic account like Maximum of only Rs.5000 can be transferred in a single transaction and total of Rs.25,000 in a month, Only Rs.10,000 can store and Utilize per month. You can wipe out these limits by submitting your KYC (Know Your Customer) request to the Paytm. As per RBI guidelines these documents are mandatory or has to follow for Semi closed wallets (wallet for digitally store cash in online for transactions) like Paytm to offer higher transactions or lift the account limitations of their users. 





Paytm has over 20 million registered users with 7 million app downloads and handles more than 15 million orders per month. People use this online payment gateway for recharging their mobile number, Data Card, DTH, Paying their utility bills, Booking Bus tickets etc...

Upgrade is currently available for users those who are added more than Rs.5000 in a month to their wallet.

To Submit your KYC Request to Paytm

If your paytm account is a basic then you may face temporary block of your account at the end of month while your transactions reach the limit as said above. Don't be sad, your account will unblock or all your previous paused benefits can continue to enjoy in the beginning of next month.

Update : Now submit your KYC documents to upgrade your paytm wallet and get free Rs.100 paytm cash. Offer is only for Delhi and Mumbai customers only

So, KYC is to verify your account ownership by verifying your Voter ID, Adhaar Card License card or any other proof and this is mandatory for your paytm account up-gradation.

For upgrading your paytm account you have to submit some documents (address proof, identity proof) to paytm. Follow below steps for the same.
  • Log-in to your Paytm account from PC. 
  • Click on your Profile name which is on the right side
  • Now select Request wallet upgrade 
  • Here you can see Visit our centers and Request a Pick up option
If would like to visit their centers then click on Visit our Centers. Then scroll down little to know paytm centers and their address
You can visit respective centers anytime between 10 am and 5 pm on working days. Also you must carry originals of proof of address and proof of Identity for verification purposes and two passport size photos. 
But currently their centers are only in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata and Chennai

If you are going for Request a pick up option then their executive will visit your home and collect your documents 
    Here also the same after selecting above option, scroll down bit to add a new address or If you already have a saved address with paytm then no need to type in again and just simply select that address as your pick up address and submit 
    • Done! KYC Submission request Completed.
    • Paytm executives will come to your home and collect your documents
    Also you can add a new address for KYC document verification if you already have a saved address with paytm.
    You can now upgrade your paytm wallet from app. For that Update app and Sign-in to your account >> Click on wallet icon from below >> Tap on Upgrade usage limit option >> Select Visit our centers or Request a pickup option and follow the same steps as above

    Those who are selecting Request a pick up option has to keep below documents
    • Paytm executive will reach your address to collect and verify your self attested documents copies for address proof and identity proof.
    • You can submit your Voter ID Card or Driving License as self attested copies for both the proof and keep a passport size photograph.
    • Your Paytm wallet will update after they reviewing your submitted documents and notify the confirmation via SMS.
    • Reviewing or completion process may take 2 to 30 days.

    Benefits of Upgrading You Paytm Account

    • You can add up to Rs.1,00,000 (one lakh) to your account but store and monetize only up to 1 lakh to your  paytm account at any point of time.

      1. You can transfer only a maximum of Rs.5000 at a time and a total amount of Rs.25000 per month and its same as for prime account (Upgraded account) as well as for basic account users.

      3. I already contacted paytm customer care and confirms the same that Rs.5000 can transfer at a time whether we have a prime/basic account. Also you can send a mail to care@paytm.com about your concern and they will definitely help you.

    2. I have requested for wallet upgrade but we did not get any update from paytm team

    3. It may take 10-20 days to activate after you applied for the wallet upgrade. Also Upgrade is currently available only to selected users who have added more than Rs. 5,000 in their wallet in current month. It's better to send a mail to care@paytm.com asking about your status of your wallet upgrade from your paytm registered email address and they will let you know about the progress.

    4. my friend transfer amount to my number but i cant recieve the money in my wallet or bank account and i got msz on my number and the money deducted from my frnd account will u help me

      1. It's may happen due to network issues (wait for some time to receive the money) or may exceed your monthly wallet usage limit ie. more than 20,000 for normal users and 1 lakh for upgraded users. Moreover contact paytm with the transaction details and they will help you.
