Steps to Upgrade Mobikwik Wallet

Are you a mobikwik user? Is it your primary choice for recharge or doing any online transactions? Did you faced any transaction limit in a month and want to lift it?  Now you can do it. Because all Semi Closed Wallet like mobikwik and if we are a basic user then transactions using our wallet is always limited to Rs.10,000 in a month. Also you can transfer only Rs.4000 in a single transaction to other wallet and total of Rs.25000 in a month which is same as that of paytm account. Mobikwik now allows users to upgrade their account by submitting KYC documents to them. By doing this you can transact or transfer more than 10,000 in a month or hold as cash in your wallet. 

As by RBI regulations users those who have an account with semi closed wallet like mobikwik want to transact or load cash more than the prescribed limit must verify their KYC documents. What is Mobikwik Account/Wallet? 

It's a semi closed wallet in which you can load money to it from your bank account using your credit/debit card or net banking or cash pick-up (Once you choose this option then mobikwik executive will collects cash from your house) and use it to recharge or shopping online etc... Also there is 2 types of Mobikwik account based on your registration. Below are those two. 

Money that adding to your mobikwik wallet has a validity of 6 months and after that your money get forfeit. Also non-active account get expires after 3 years from the date of it's creation

Silver Account 

It's the primary account that gets activate or getting when you were registering with your Email ID and mobile number to the mobikwik. With this you can do transactions only upto Rs.10,000 in a month. If you go beyond that then you may face temporary blockage to your Account.

Limitations of Silver Account

As I said above if you don't upgrade your mobikwik account ie. from silver to gold account then you have to face some below limitations. 

• Monthly transaction with merchants sites or store cash in wallet is limited to Rs.10,000 
• During a single transaction you can transfer only Rs.4000 to other wallet 
• In a single month a total amount of Rs.25,000 is allows between wallet to wallet transfer
• Temporary blocking of your Mobikwik account if you exceed the monthly transaction limit
• Wallet to bank transfer limit is Rs.500 and a total of Rs.2000 in a month

Gold Account

Account that gets upgrade from silver account. For becoming a gold account holder you have to submit KYC (Know-Your-Customer) documents. After submitting it you can extend your monthly transaction limit upto Rs.100000 (One Lakh Rupees).

KYC documents are those documents in which you have to it submit for your Address proof and Identity verification. You can submit your Ration Card, Voter ID Card, Adhaar Card, licence card etc... for that

Steps to Upgrade Mobikwik Account

You can request for your wallet upgrade via mobikwik site or app. Here I am giving steps to do the same with their app and site.

Using Site

• Go to Mobikwik wallet upgrade page from here. 
• Log-in in to your Mobikwik account
• Enter Date of Birth, attach ID proof and Address proof, select your state and city
• Finally click on Submit to wallet upgrade button to complete the process

Using app

• Log-in to your mobikwik account
• Then tap on Menu icon from the top right side of the app
• Select Upgrade wallet option from it
• On next page click on Get Started button from below
• Now pop-up will ask you to turn on the location and simply select Turn on button

Wallet upgrade is currently limited to Delhi/NCR, Haryana,Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan users and selected cities only. Selecting turn on option will help you to know the service is available in your city

• Then add below details
• Upload your photo (size less 2 MB) 
• Enter your date of  birth
• Click on Select ID proof and choose the ID proof from the list that you would like to submit
• Add/upload your ID proof by clicking on the Attach button
• Tap on Address proof type and select the proof that you want to submit
• Hit Attach button take a photo of it or upload it directly from your phone
• Fnally click on submit button to complete the initial process

Then mobikwik executive will visit you to verify and collect these documents. Also you have to keep 2 photos of you ready at the time of their visit. After successfully complete the verification your mobikwik wallet will be upgrded and lift your monthly transaction limits.

What are the documents can you submit?

ID Proof (any of it):-

• Aadhar card
• Driving License
• Govt. Issued identity Card
• NREGA Job card with photo
• Pan Card with photograph
• Passport
• Voter ID

Address Proof (any of it):-

• Aadhar card
• Bank account/Post office saving account statement
• Driving License
• NREGA Job Card
• Passport
• Pension payment order (PPOs) containing address
• Property or municipal tax receipt
• Utility bills not more than 2 months old
• Voter ID
